Summer will be over before you know it, so let’s map out how the SOL Sailboat can help you conquer the true essence of summer. Keep reading for inspiration on how your SOL Sailboat (and the very act of sailing) can take your summertime to the next level.
Sunrises and sunsets
Chase the sun and ride the waves all summer long! Some of the most breathtaking sailing views take place during sunrise and sunset. Wake up early and start the day with an invigorating sunrise on the water, or peacefully witness the sunset at the end of the day.
Take a friend on the water
Bring along a friend or loved one to join you on the SOL Sailboat. The boat comfortably fits two to three adults and children. Your partner, kids, friends, or pets can all be great companions on the SOL. Additionally, the SOL is an excellent boat for learning to sail because it is easy to rig, and an instructor can comfortably sail alongside the student.
Learn to race
Hitting the open water with a sailboat is an excellent pastime in the summer, but have you ever felt the thrill of racing a sailboat? Many sailing clubs offer weekly races or regattas where you to test your skills and compete with other sailors. To prepare for these heart-racing events, consider enrolling in an online course or in-person lessons. Both the American Sailing Association and US Sailing are reputable sources that can connect you with skilled instructors who can help you hone your racing abilities and enhance your overall sailing expertise.
Check out a new location
We are a Michigan-based company, and there is no shortage of places to explore with a SOL Sailboat. The portability of a SOL Sailboat means you are not limited to one location. You can easily take the SOL to a different launch site every weekend! At only 120 lbs, you can easily transport the SOL on top of your car.
Explore sailing clubs and community programs
Joining clubs and community programs is a great way to learn more about sailing in the area, connect with the sailing community, enhance your sailing skills, and meet others who share your passion.
These groups can offer:
- Lessons
- Rentals
- Regattas
- Community activities
- Access to a body of water
It’s worth noting that some sailing clubs and programs are nonprofit organizations, while others are part of clubs with paid memberships. Yacht clubs may also have sailing clubs or junior sailing programs available.
