SOL-Sunfish White Inspection Port (5 inch)

This 5-inch inspection port provides convenient access inside the hull, making it ideal for maintenance, storage, or ventilation. It can be added to any boat for easy interior reach.

Deck Plate Installation Instructions:

1. Mark the Cutout: Remove the deck plate center and use the outer ring as a template. Scribe a line around the inside of the ring.
2. Create the Opening: Drill a 3/8″ (9.2mm) starter hole inside the scribed line. Use a reciprocating saw to cut approximately 1/8″ (3.2mm) outside the line for a proper fit.
3. Apply Sealant: Place the center back into the ring. Apply a 3/8″ (9.2mm) bead of silicone caulk around the edge of the spigot (flange) and the underside of the ring.
4. Secure the Deck Plate: Fasten to the deck using #8 pan head screws or thru-bolts, ensuring at least 1/16″ (1.6mm) of caulk remains as a gasket. If installing on a curved surface, fill gaps completely with caulk without bending the trim ring.

**Important: Do not use countersunk or oval head screws, as this may cause damage. Thin-ring deck plates may be mounted without fasteners, but if adhesion is uncertain, drill and counterbore for #8 fasteners.**
